Parental controls not restricting set websites

Go to solution

Hello, I’ve seen that other users have had this issue. Set specific websites are not being restricted even though it says they should be in the parental controls section. No error messages, just not actually working when tested. Please advise, thanks.

Re: Parental controls not restricting set websites

Hi @Djs58, welcome to the forum, and thanks for posting. Sorry that the Parental Controls are not blocking some sites that they should.

Are these websites you've set up on the controls to be blocked and if so is it blocking any sites that you've added?

Cheers

John

Hi John

Many thanks for responding. Yes I have set them up to be blocked and it is blocking neither. Both are adult sites.

I have tried removing and adding them but that did not work. No error messages.

Any tips most welcome

Thanks

Hi @Djs58, thanks for getting back to me so quickly.

Try a Reset of your Hub first and see if that resolves the issue.

Then test again and also check if you change the filter level between Light, Moderate and Strict does it block the websites?

Cheers

Hi @Djs58, one other thing that just came to mind is to check you are using BT's DNS settings.

Let us know if that resolves the issue or you need further help with this.

Cheers

DNS settings are the correct ones. I have reset the set filter levels and that's done the trick. It was on Custom but I changed it to Moderate and that seems to have worked.
