Hi my phone which I've had for a number of years, has suddenly had this fault which I don't know how to fix : it rings fine, but once I've answered there is no sound (the time continues as if I've answered) I tested when I phone out aswell, and same thing, my daughter answered my call, but there was no sound for either me not her. It also used to show me numbers but no all are No Number. Please help as I use it for my small home business. Thank you.

Are you a BT Retail or are you a BT Business customer?
Have you tried a different phone?

Are you a BT Retail customer, do you pay BT for your line rental?

Sorry, yes it's bt phone, on bt landline rental
Then you need to get hold of another phone to try, even a cheap wired one will do, just to prove whether its a faulty phone. This will avoid a possible £85 visit charge, if the fault is caused by your phone.
Hi @Panoramix924,
Please post back once you've been able to test the line with another phone.
If the problem remains the same you'll more than likely need an engineer to go out and check the line.
Thanks,
