Poor WiFi signal in furthest room

The WiFi signal in the outer-most room in my house is practically unusable.  You get 1 bar at best, and half the time you can't connect to it at all.  This is despite being only 15-20 feet from the router, although it is through two concrete walls.

I'm currently on the "Fibre 1" package with a Smart Hub 1.

Would a WiFi extender or an aftermarket router help?  Or even better could I get BT to upgrade my router?

A wifi hotspot device like these would solve the problem.

Which I think is cheaper.

Changing the home hub is not going to help.

Powerline adapters aren't going to help, as this house is two separate houses knocked through.  They have separate power lines.

Do they both come from the same mains consumer unit?

The only time they do not work, is if you have two buildings with their own separate mains supply, with their own electricity meter.

They will work, even if on different mains ring, as long as the both come from the same common supply.

The only other alternative is to run an Ethernet cable between the two buildings, and plug a wireless access point in the end. That is the cheapest and most effective solution.
