Spotted today [Times and Telegraph] that BT are about to walk away from their latest bid for the next 4 years of Premiership rugby due not making any headway. Offering £40M a season but being told it's not enough.
Premiership rugby might end up with egg on their face!
Been listening to the BBC rugby podcast over lockdown and I get the impression that the RU community do not appreciate that for the professional game to survive they need to massively downsize in the short term and ride out a continued period of no or little crowd revenue. Asking the viewing public who have financial constrictions of their own to consider to make up the shortfall is ignorant and crass.
That’s the only reason that keeps me with BT at the moment. If they don’t keep the rugby then will have to look elsewhere. With Gigaclear currently laying fibre in the village that looks like an option. So it will depend on whether anyone else takes the rugby on.
Same here ... If Rugby goes, so do I!
Reported in The Times that Premiership rugby are likely to accept an offer from BT. A 3 year contract for £110M.
Can't really believe that they thought it is worth more ?
