I had the same email mine sent me here telling me I had a private message.  Report it as spam/phishing.

I have had one this morning from a "CrazyLovel".....Blink and it's gone etc etc. Disappointed that BT can't stop this happening.

I agree completely about BT needing to do something and have just put in a formal complaint to them.  I only joined the forum a few months ago to ask BT if they could improve the BT email design/functionality to bring it in line with best practice. Noone from BT was on here and the only consequence is I've now received a scam email possibly compromising my security. Their feedback form limited me to 500 characters on the forum, and 1500 characters on the complaint form. Shambolic! We're paying good money for their service and we 've a right to expect some. Grrrrr!

The Moderators do not say whether BT accounts have been compromised along with the forum, it would be good to know if they have so members could update passwords etc:

@Swaddie-72 I can assure you that your BT account has not been compromised and is secure so there is no need to change your password, all members of the community can send and receive private messages between each other and this feature has been utilised by a spammer to send these messages.

I'm really sorry if you've received one of these messages and recommend that you don't click on any of the links and delete it.

I had the same email from BT Community Forums.

I thought it was strange.

Deleted it now I’ve seen this thread

Thanks Neil, that reply is reassuring and much appreciated. I suppose, playing devil's advocate so please don't think I'm being rude, my first question would be to ask with what authority you speak. Are you a BT specialist for example. If you are not an official BT spokesperson, is there a reason why I've not seen BT themselves contributing to a thread of posts like this. Etc etc. Should BT customer expect some communication from them.

I'm very cynical in my old age and what I'm wondering is if BT is just leaving us all to wander around this forum giving advice to each other without them making any contribution, and then selling the forum as a benefit of being with BT.

I of course did click one of those links. Do I need to be worried?
