Random lag spikes / packet loss

Hi I’ve been having issues with having packet loss / lag spikes, I’ve been with bt for around a month and in that time frame I’ve had no issues till now, I’ve checked the service page for the companies I’m playing on and there’s no issues reported, I’ve got fiber 100 on g.fast.

Re: Random lag spikes / packet loss

Hi @Ryan_J , welcome to the forum, and that sorry you are experiencing ping spikes.

What is the level of ping spike you are experiencing?

Would you try connecting your gaming device directly to the Hub via ethernet ensuring not to use any powerline adapters or ethernet switches.  If you're using a third party router please can you try with a BT Home Hub.
Cheers
John

Could local wireless interference. Until you check with a direct wired connection to the hub we'll never know.

I don’t have a cable that’s long enough to reach the hub

Re: Random lag spikes / packet loss

You can get a cable of any length from ebay. Much better for gaming too.
