FTTP Full Fibre 900 upload speed capped at around 50Mbps.

I plugged in a new router from BT on Wednesday and found my upload capped at 50mb, I was told by Tech Support thats the best speed I’ll get, despite getting the full speed before the router was replaced. Notice a lot of other people having the same issues, is there anything that can be done?
