We had a BT8500 call blocking phone for 5 years, very pleased with it until it stopped working, can't remember now what went wrong.
Last October we replaced it with a "BT Premium Cordless Home Phone with a 100% nuisance call blocking", which we were initially very pleased with, but now this also has started to malfunction. Following a call where someone has left an ansaphone message, it seems to lock up and won't sound the ringer or record a message when someone calls. Resetting the phone temporarily solves the problem until the next call.
We have caller ID, and want to continue having the call blocker. Reluctant to buy another BT phone, can anyone advise or recommend a suitable replacement offering a base unit and one remote handset?

Thanks for your helpful and supportive message.
We'll be returning the phone, it's always been a pain with numerous quirks. We stopped using BT modem/routers years ago because of their endless faults and failures, and it seems that their phones are the same. There's a limit to how much time you want to waste with helplines etc., and we've certainly had our fill over many years.
I've just installed our new Panasonic KX-TGD622EB, run some tests, and so far so good.
Thanks again for helpful replies.
