My BT Hub had a firmware update on the 13th of January, ever since the connection drops exactly every 24hrs around 2.40am every day. This is the first time anything like this happened. Has anyone experienced a similar problem?
Any help would be appreciated though it's predictable it's still rather frustrating.
Someone else here might have a better idea on why it's happening.
Tonight you could leave the router disconnected with all wired devices and wifi disabled around 02:40 am and see.
every 24 hrs and 02:40 hours suspiciously points to the digits 0,2,4 . Maybe some time related default settings somewhere.

Is a tin foil hat required at that time too?
have you tried a factory reset incase firmware did not update fully press recessed button on back and hold 20/30 secs until lights flash when restarts remember to turn off smart setup
