My son keeps compaling that when someone presses our ring doorbell his gaming buffers anyone else had similar issues.

It's possible depending on your broadband speed. Rings specs suggest a minimum of 2mbps upload speed which could affect gaming if you're not on a speedy connection.

I would guess that the doorbell transmits a video stream which is taking priority over his connection, especially if he is also using a wireless connection to his game.

If he is using wireless, then an Ethernet connection may be a better solution.
