Our broadband speed is slow. It currently is 0.9 Mbps download and 0.3 Mbps upload with a guide speed of 1 - 3 Mbps download.
Whilst I realize there is probably not much the BT technical support staff can do to improve the situation due to the poor infrastructure with the copper telephone lines. Nevertheless, is it worth asking to see if they can help?
welcome to the BT community forum where customers help customers and only BT employees are the forum mods
in order for the forum members to help please can you post the stats from your router (if hub enter 192.168.1.254 in your browser) and if HH5 then go to troubleshooting then helpdesk and if HH6/SH2 then advanced settings then technical log information .
Have you tried the quiet line test? - dial 17070 option 2 - should hear nothing - best done with a corded phone. if cordless phone you may hear a 'dull hum' which is normal
enter your phone number and post results remember to delete number https://www.broadbandchecker.btwholesale.com/#/ADSL
Someone may then be able to offer help/assistance/suggestions to your problem
Thank you
We have had BT engineers out in the past to assist due to the slow speeds. Other houses in the village also suffer in the same way. I was just wondering if things could be improved at the telephone exchange end of the line.
The information I requested will show your current connection stats, your expected speed range and also if your line I see quiet. All of which will help forum members help you to see if anything you can do to get better speed
