Slow speed on Fibre 900

Hi All,

My area has had fibre laid in the last few weeks. I had Fibre 900 installed on Monday 20th from a Brand new drop wire into the home. From what I was told im the first on the distribution point and one of the first in the area to get FTTH. However, on the first day when the openreach engineer was there I was touching around 800mbps, however, that night the speed took a massive drop down to 90mbps and has since stabalised at around 270-300 down and 80-100 up. I have had no drops on the line. I am a network engineer by trade and have done the usual, new cable, direct from ONT to machine, endless reboots, check link speed on network card, new switch, new 3rd party router. I have also taken everything off the network and just had my device connected which is definetly 1gbps capable, however, still only get the 270-300 speed.

I have logged a call with BT and have gone back through the above with them on the phone, they can 700mbps on the line, however, at the same time I was only getting 300mbps. I have a qube engineer booked (oh the joys) to check the internal side of stuff, which I can guarantee is fine. Im guessing they will do a few speed checks and say theres a problem and pass it back to BT?

I can see people have had similar issues but not many list the outcomes, has anyone got a solution to this? Or had an outcome from it? I think its a profile issue, however, BT are adament I am on the correct profile.

Thanks

Re: Slow speed on Fibre 900

Some have been successful getting their speeds up by calling the FTTP team.

Several others, myself included, are waiting to find out the results from the Samknows testing and what BT have learned. We’re hoping to find out more this week.
