The update is automatic and you should not have to do anything

Yes, thanks. Mine did the Update in March just after I queried it via this post. Coincidence, I expect.

Re: Smart hub 6 latest firmware update please?

Hi all, I'm quite new to all this and although I have an IT background, it's not in broadband/networking/wifi etc

I've just taken delivery of a BT Hub 6A which has SG4B1000E020 (April 2020) installed.  I tried an online chat with a rep for BT yesterday to find out when/if an update would be installed and she was adamant that I was on the latest release.

However, from this post it seem that SG4B1000E079 the latest firmware release - is that correct?  How do BT distribute this? I know I can't manually install firmware but I'm not particularly happy to be running on a release that is over two years old.

Connect you hub up and leave it running 24/7 and if it needs an update it will be done automatically from BT.

Re: Smart hub 6 latest firmware update please?

Hi,

My Home Hub 6 A received a firmware update to SG4B1000E079 on 12 May 22. This was the same day as its 14 day reboot cycle - maybe firmware is pushed as part of this cycle if an update is available ?

Aside: It would be good to know what has been fixed/changed etc ... ;-o

Regards

Stewart

Mine just updated to SG4B1000E079, one change I have noticed is they removed the "Seperate Bands" option under Advanced > Wireless settings, you can still seperate the bands by changing the SSID of the 5G but you no longer have to toggle the seperate bands option for the 5G section on the right to show.
