Hi, the firmware update v0.26.04.04227-BT delivered to resolve the issue of loss of connection between devices on 5Ghz and 2.4Ghz bands has introduced an wifi instability issue.
As im back using my wifi this week after a few weeks, I immediately noticed my iPad keeps losing connection to wifi. Also started noticing an wifi stability issue this morning with my iPhone.
My short term fix six to disable the 5Ghz band, everything is then stable. Unfortunately the impact of this temporary fix is that my BT wifi disc won't work. 😡 Means I cant extend my wifi into the garden for socialising and music.
What plans does BT have to fix this issue?
not seen other posts like yours about new firmware. Have you tried changing the wireless channels from auto to manually selected channels by using a wifi analyser on your phone and selecting a free or less congested channel
Not changed wifi channels as these aren't the issue. SH2 is supposed to select the best channel anyway.
Issue introduced by BT when they upgraded SH2 firmware to resolve another issue. i.e. blocking communication between devices using different bands, e.g. I couldn't print as printer was on 2.4Ghz band but PC was on 5Ghz band. Or sonos controller on phone (connected to 2.4Ghz band) couldn't see Sonos Move speaker on 5Ghz band. Firmware update resolved this but has introduced a new issue that is even more frustrating.
Hi @Steveee I'm really sorry to see you're experiencing problems with your wifi. Can you try a factory reset of your Hub and post back to let me know if that helps?
Thanks
Neil

I am well aware that auto is supposed to pick the best channel but in my own experience the auto changing of channel as congestion changes caused problems with my WiFi devices which I solved by manually selecting best channels for my hub and devices. Of course you can just stay on auto if it works for you
Factory reset router and the connections seem stable.
