Speed Tests

Hi - I have used several broadband speed test sites and they have all come up with speeds of between 23-24mbps. However, when I use the BT speed test, it is telling me that my speed is above the guaranteed 30mbps.  Any thoughts ?

Re: Speed Tests

Btspeedtester run on BT whereas other speed test run partially on 3rd party connection so often show different speed to btspeedtester

Re: Speed Tests

Hi again.  Ignore my last message - after reading other posts, I decided to delve a bit deeper and it seems that my guaranteed speed has been lowered to 21mbps which means that my 24mbps is deemed acceptable.  Still not at the 27-44mbps I am paying for but I guess that is one of the perils of being with BT.  Luckily, County Broadband are currently setting up Fibre to the Property in our area, so hopefully my days with BT are numbered and I will with luck be getting 300mbps for not much more that the price I am paying BT.
