Suddenly getting constant scam emails

Hi

Use BT mobile and btinternet email address For the last few months, getting daily scam emails. (Mainly purporting to come from McAfee, but also Norton) I’ve blocked about fifty so far, but they’re still pouring in. (Even blocked ones, with prompt to unblock them!)

Have to add that this is equally affecting other email accounts (Outlook etc), but the btinternet is our main one. 
Eg

*******@e.walgreens.com
*********************@gmail.com
*********************@gmail.com
*********************@gmail.com

Feel like giving up if blocking is no use.

Any wisdom would be much appreciated.

I get around 20 per day to my Gmail account, so the problem isn't unique to BT eMail. As with all fraud, the fraudsters will always be one step ahead of the people trying to stop them

Ok thanks. Did you see the point about blocked emails getting through? Wonder what that’s all about?  Also definitely only started a few weeks ago.

They're probably spoofing email addresses. So what you see isn't where they're actually coming from

“Spoofing”😀😀 Last time I saw that was when I was spoofing my son’s Xbox drive.

It is against the forum rules to post email addresses and in particular scammers email addresses. I have moved your post to a safe space until the moderators remove the scammers email address.

Sorry for contravening forum rules. I just wanted people to see a flavour of these attacks. I was also wondering if this spate was systemic or just me?
