Victure AC1200 As replacement router advice

Hi everyone hope your well I’m unfortunately still having constant speed dropouts. By still can’t find a fault and from reading online others have resolved the issues when changing the router. I have FTTC using a smart hub 2

I have seen great reviews on the victories AC1200 would I need a separate modem to have this working or could I use the smart hub 2 as a modem ?

any help would be grateful thanks

You can use the Smart Hub 2 as a modem by disabling the wireless function on it and plugging in a router or other access point. The new device then can handle the wireless for you.

How do you know the hub is the problem?

@thomasglazebrook's solution would work if you don't mind double NAT.

@thomasglazebrook  that doesn't turn the Smart Hub 2 into a modem. It turns it into a router without WiFi, even if you also turn off DHCP it doesn't make it a modem, it will still be routing and natting. The SH2 doesn't have a bridge mode.
