Web Protect /DNS issues.

Hello,
I had an email from BT this morning telling me that web protect had been turned on for me and that I could turn it off in my settings which I did around 4 or 5 hours ago.

I am unable to use the DNS of my choice still so is there any way that I can check that the web protect has been turned off and that my settings have been returned to the state they were in prior to the web protect being turned on?

Many thanks.

Welcome to this user forum.

BT Web Protect should not stop you from using your own DNS servers. What message are you getting?

Re: Web Protect /DNS issues.

Hello Keith,

I was having issues using a VPN and the email about the web protect appeared at exactly the same time so I thought the two must be connected seeing as a part of the web protect blurb talks about using only BT DNS servers.

I'm almost there with resolving the issues with the VPN now.

Re: Web Protect /DNS issues.

Just coincidence, as web protect is only effective if you use BT`s DNS servers.
