Wired connection to PC

I've just set up my broadband and for the first time its using WAN instead of the standard versions.  I am trying to connect my PC to the wired connection. however when I plug it into the Ethernet port in the wall my PC isnt getting any connection?

I have connected the modem output into the wall where the modem is connected.

Is this because I am using WAN?

Re: Wired connection to PC

you should connect the wan port on router to the modem or ONT if FTTP  then connect LAN from router to wall socket and then connect pc LAN to wall socket in the room

Re: Wired connection to PC

The ONT is connected to the WAN port on the router and your PC connects to the router Ethernet port ( not the ONT ) , although you can set up a connection directly , it’s not the usual way to connect, it sounds as though you are not connected up correctly.
