I am unable to pick my btinternet emails up on my ipad. It does not seem to recognise my bt email address, although I have no problems in the past.

You said a year ago that you were going to look for a new provider because of problems you were having with the "new" BTMail system.
Did you do that or are you still a BT Broadband customer or paying for your BTMail through a BT Premium email account?
