is a Draytek 2860 faster than a BT infinity 2 router

I recently upgraded to FTTP with a download speed of 500. When I plugged my computer into the router I only get a speed of 230 despite  BT telling me that the speed to the router is running at 500.

When I connected via the wifi I got a speed of about 100.

I was using a Draytek 2860 router with my old connection. Would this be any faster than the BT router?

thanks

Only one way to find out. Plug it in and try it.

The Vigor 2860 firewall is limited to 300 Mb/s due to its older chipset so unlikely to be faster than the SH2.  You can connect your PC directly to the ONT and create a PPPoE connection to rule out any speed issue with the SH2.
