Help anyone.
Three houses along our wee lane. All share same telephone wire from exchange. Copper to each house. House 1 and 3 use BT and get 40 Mbps. I've just ordered BT assuming prior provider was the problem (max 8 Mbps), but the fastest deal I can find for my house (based on post code and house name) is still only 10Mbps. My neighbours have just tested their broadband and verified that the get 40-50 Mbps.
Help anyone?
can you enter your phone number and post results https://www.broadbandchecker.btwholesale.com/#/ADSL
if phone number does not work try address not post code

FTTP is not available.
For all ADSL and WBC Fibre to the Cabinet (VDSL or G.fast) services, the stable line rate will be determined during the first 10 days of service usage.
Actual speeds experienced by end users and quoted by CPs will be lower due to a number of factors within and external to BT's network, Communication Providers' networks and within customer premises.
The Stop Sale date for IPstream is from 31 Jan 2013. The Formal Retirement date for IPstream is from 30 Jun 2014.
In order to be eligible for handback, downstream speed should be less than Downstream Handback Threshold values.
Thank you for your interest
thanks for quick reply
Telephone number not recognised
There is no data available for this number. This could be either because it is not a BT line or it is a new BT number that has just been provided. Most new numbers will appear on the checker 24 hours after BT has installed the line
Until you have a working BT Retail phone line, its not going to be possible to tell what speed you are going to get.
which exchange and cab are you on it was at top of dslchecker result
Address xxxxxx, DUMFRIES on Exchange DUMFRIES
Does this help. I've xxxxd out house name.
There doesn't see to be a Cab number?

If you take the short walk to the cabinet, with luck there should be a number stencilled on it.
Ok, thanks ++. Will do that later today and post back
the checker should show a cab number but if no cab number then you are connected to the exchange. If that is the case that would explain no fibre as you need to be connected to a cabinet
can you run checker again but try neighbours phone number if you know it and see what result you get
