For me with the 1 port ONT, the serial number is a sticker (very small font) on the front, so no need to remove the ONT from the wall.
No front cover. Just slide it up and it will come off.
The Huawei ones have always had a sticker on the front and spare ones in the box.
Nokia only come with it on the back of the ONT but the new ones coming out will have spare stickers as well.
I know a lot of Openreach Engineers like to put one in the CSP in case it’s they need to confirm it on a Repair visit and the EU’s not home.

Just how long does the connection process take...
Once a Nokia ONT is Activated against the Head End and providing the Profile is built correctly it can take 5-15 minutes to Sync up and establish a PPPoE Session.
