I've received an e-mail from:
Email quarantine<taichibokuto@gmail.com>
It purports to come from BT internet Spam Filter, telling me I have 5 emails in quarantine as it reckons they are Spam.
Sounds like a scam to me?? - especially as it's from a gmail account, not BT
Does anyone have any knowledge on this please?

It's a scam. BT do not use gmail to tell you anything never mind that you have spam. Don't click on any links and delete it.
