Hi my parents have BT4600 phones. Yesterday the sound has stopped working when they receive calls. They can hear the caller speaking but the caller cannot hear them. There’s no problem on outgoing calls. Any ideas please? Phones aren’t that old. Thanks.

The first thing to do is to turn off the power to the base station unit for about 30 seconds. This should allow the communication paths to the handsets to be re-initialised. That normally fixes the problem.
Thanks I’ve already tried that but it’s still not working.
Assuming the microphone has not be muted, as you say outgoing calls are fine. Who provides your phone service, and have you tried a normal wired phone just in case its an exchange equipment fault?
One-way transmission can happen on some phone networks.
