Complaint:

I have only had this camera for 2.5 years.
You have terminated the above with no sensible explanation apart from the fact that you will save money. This is very disappointing. I cannot even view the camera directly (ie not via your server). I have been a BT Broadband customer for over 30 years! I do not expect to be treated like this. I expect you to replace the camera with something similar at no cost or refund the cost of the camera as it appears there is no way to access. I wasn’t aware it needed your server for it to work. You offer a recycling option but what will happen to the to it apart from land fill?

Perhaps you could update the app so I can access the camera directly without the need for your server.

Very disappointed customer

In case it helps anyone, albeit not addressing the wider issue of the app functionality being removed - I contacted BT via smartcontrols@bt.com because my parent unit had stopped working around a year after I purchased the smart monitor and while Amazon wouldn’t replace it I gave up because I used the app more anyway. I asked that they now replace the parent unit because the app meant I had no choice but to rely on the parent unit. They sent a replacement, which was also faulty (would only turn on when plugged into the mains) and are now sending  another replacement. 

it would be funny if it weren’t such an appalling way to treat customers. But hopefully anyone who may salvage some use by replacing a broken parent unit has some luck with that email address

I am fuming! I have been through all my emails to find any notification about the monitor app and NOTHING.  I have all my videos and photos of my little one and now they're all gone.  The least BT could do is keep the app active till the end of the year so that people can try to download all the precious videos and pics.

Is there any way to get them through the BT account? Something.. anything??  I'm so annoyed.

I messaged BT complaints and asked for £25 for a replacement camera. They reduced my latest broadband bill by £25! I also complained about the cessation of BT Cloud and got a reduction in future broadband bills.

I have 2 accounts running 2 different sets of cameras. Only one of my accounts was notified so I think they missed quite a few people out.
