BT TV Pro Box, keeps truning on my tv randomly

Good morning,

I've had a BT pro box for a few months and loving it, but for some odd reason it randomly turns on in the night, I've tried factory resetting and soft booting the box but it's still happening.

I have HDMI CEC support turned on but this has always been on and never randomly turned on before. my soundbar is connected via HDMI ARC too and doesn't randomly turn on unless the TV turns on.

I also have a Google TV stick and a Portal TV and neither of these devices are causing this issue.

Any one know of any fixes so this stops happening, it can happen a couple of times a night usually about 11pm/2am

Many thanks
Dave

Re: BT TV Pro Box, keeps truning on my tv randomly

I’ve just had an upgrade to my BT broadband which included the install of a new replacement BT router - I’m now experiencing the same problem.

Me too. Rang BT. Long long phonecall and at the end they denied it was anything to do with the box even though it started the minute they were installing it. I’m furious.

Re: BT TV Pro Box, keeps truning on my tv randomly

Exact same issue here. If I turn off Input Signal Plus on my Samsung TV for the HDMI port the issue stops but I then lose support for HDR 10 and CEC so would rather not do that.

Issue doesn't occur with my PS5 or Chromecast 4k so is definately down the the BT Pro box. Really not impressed at all with the BT TV Pro. It seems to be 1 issue after another.

So I no longer get this problem, had BT replace the box and it has been ok for a long time.

I am cancelling my contract on the 18th for TV though, not due to this problem, just purely down to cost.
