BT Whole Home - Does traffic stay local to the Disc?

If I have two devices connected wirelessly to a Disc (4 Disc setup), if one device needs to communicate with the other, for example casting a computer screen to a TV, does the traffic stay within that Disc or does it go out to the router and back again?
