Hello
New BT XD56 triple phone set can dial out perfectly, and on incoming calls shows the word ‘Call’ on screens but none of the handsets ring out.
I have set ringer volume at 5 but presume the ringer is muted and cannot find how to remove this.
can anyone help please?

yes went through all the settings in the manual. Strangely enough after your post I went through them again and on resetting the external ringer melody the one base handset I did it on actually rang out for one test call (the other 2 did not).
on subsequent calls and trying this on the other 2 handsets this did not work.
Any ideas?
Does the phone base unit plug into the wall socket, or are you on BT Digital Voice, with the phone base plugged into the smart hub 2?
If its plugged into the wall socket, the exchange ringing current faults are very common due to the age of the exchange line cards. You still get the indication of an incoming call, but no ringing current.
We are on digital voice plugged into smart hub 2.
Have also tried at another house plugged into wall socket and was exactly the same.
I think this has something to do with multi call.
One of the forum members with Digital Voice should be able to help with this.
