BT8600 - blocked numbers still ring

Why does my handset ring even the the caller is blocked? I thought it would just stay silent.

I can’t find a setting to deal with this.

For Digital Voice I have had to move my BT8600 base station next to the router. This is in a room which is always in use.

For incoming calls, the base station ringer (not the handset) is excruciatingly loud. Is there a way to  reduce the volume? I can’t find one!

Is call blocking switched on? Have you had a look through the BT8600 userguide?

Thanks. I didn’t realise it wasn’t enough to block individual numbers. I’m hoping that's cracked it!
