Big button 4000 cordless phones

Good evening, 

I bought these phones for my father and he’s been having issues with them. Today he is able to call out on them, but we are unable to call him and getting an engaged tone. Any ideas on how to solve this. He has unplugged these and still not solved the issue.

Who provides your phone service?

If you still get engaged tone when they are unplugged, the there is either an internal wiring issue, or possibly an exchange or line fault.

If he is a BT Retail Customer, then this page should help https://www.bt.com/help/landline/fix-a-problem/there-s-a-problem-with-my-landline

If he is not a BT Customer, then it would be best to post on his Service Provider`s forum for advice.
