Hi,
I just installed the free BitDefender network scanner software just to see if it told me anything interesting. Well it identified 7 security vulnerabilities on the BT Smart Hub - noted as BT Smart Hub type A on its back.
Vulnerability on HTTP
Denial of service vulnerability
Sensitive data access vulnerability
Arbitrary code execution vulnerability
memory corruption vulnerability
Privilege escalation vulnerability
Access violation vulnerability
Is this bitdefender trying to encourage me to buy their products or is it something to worry about?? It's using firmware 1.00 should it be higher? What if anything do I need to do?
has anyone else found the same
Regards Steve
So if BitDefender has found all these issues with the BT Hub, what's it's solution to fixing them, because running a program on one of your devices isn't going to fix the hub!
Frankly, I'm sceptical, if these flaws existed in the vast number of BT Hubs out there, I think these forums would be filled with distraught customers screaming blue murder! I take network security seriously I'm just not convinced here!
