Clicking Smarthub 2 since migration to full fibre

Migrated to full fibre, engineer fitted it yesterday. Same BT Smarthub 2 that was fine until yesterday. Now it clicks all the time every 2-3 seconds. Quiet click but still annoying. Not overheating.

Any ideas?

@DrMagical

Have you tried powering it off for a couple of minutes and then restarting it?

Hi @DrMagical

The frequency of the clicking (2-3 seconds) is unusual. It may be worth having a chat with our Technical Support team so they can run through some tests with you.

@DrMagical

To me, that sounds like it could be the switch-mode mains power supply failing and not delivering quite sufficient voltage.

In the, (probably unlikely), event that you have or can borrow another compatible PSU, it might be worth swapping it out to test.

If you do contact Tech Support, as recommended by @Christopher_G , and they end up sending you a new hub, it may be worth swapping out the power supply first.

I assume, (but don't know for sure), that when replacement kit is sent out, a complete setup, (hub, power supply and cables etc), is sent, the same as sent to new customers, rather than just a hub on its own? @Christopher_G , can you confirm please?

Hi @Paul608085

If a replacement router is needed, the replacement would include a power pack and cables. A returns bag is sent for the old equipment within seven days. So, if this is the case, the user can try both of the power cables.
