I'm used to 192.168.1.x (and 192.168.50.x, 192.168.127.x) if everything is on 192.168.0.x then the broadcast would be 192.168.0.255 - my bad 😉

If you were to perform a packet sniff on the network you might see multiple devices broadcasting to the .255 address which every device then listens to.  If you observe the lights on your switch all blinking together, that's often such broadcast data!


I only learn by making mistakes and owning up to them - boy do I learn a lot!
