My old bosses asked me to pop up to move a VOIP phone, a BT badged Yealink T41P to be precise.
Initially it was connected by ethernet into one office.
They did not have an ethernet cable long enough to use in the office where they now wanted it.
So I did what I did, when I was working from home, I took a TPLINK router in and bridged to the BT router and plugged the T41P into that.
Got that working, however the BT router still showed that same phone connected by ethernet and also by wireless?????
So I rebooted the router, expecting the ethernet connection to disappear?
Nope, still there?????
So how does one ACTUALLY see what is REALLY connected to a BT router?
The network device list is about as much use as an ashtray on a motorbike, its similarity with reality is tenuous. Just ignore it, or if its greyed out, simply delete it.
