Do you get charged for damaged kit

I'm reaching the end of my contract and I have been told they want the kit back.

There is minor cosmetic damage and a foot is missing from the smart hub 2. Will this matter?

If so any idea how much I can be charged by BT for this?

Hi @Dmaxa   It sounds like normal wear and tear to me …

Re: Do you get charged for damaged kit

The BT hub I returned some 6-7 months ago had a similar problem , one of the feet on the hub had broken off , it never really occurred to me , that sending it back in that state  , I may be deemed responsible for the ‘damage’ , I assumed that it was going to be an issue, and , it wasn’t.

I suspect that BT don't actually re-issue returned kit but just dispose of it, presumably in an environmentally friendly way. So wear and tear issues should be of no consequence.

See link regarding returned equipment and what happens to it.

I doubt that BT will be concerned about the "damage". Make sure you keep your Proof of Postage and if possible take a photograph of it per chance you lose the paper copy. It is not unknow for BT to mistakenly bill people some months after the item was returned and it is a lot easier to prove it was returned with the Proof of Postage.

@chrisjp  Or sell them to the Far East, where they’re broken for components that end up in your next purchase?
