Hi I have a Hub 6 and am having trouble with The 5 Ghz wireless network password.
I have created a key of 13 characters which works perfectly on 2.4 Ghz but dosent work on 5 Ghz network, thius is the case even If I scan the Qr code to connect or type the password, As soon as I drop the 13th character it works. Am I limited to 12 charcaters on 5 Ghz, Its a real shame as on the Hub 6 you cant have different network names and passwords. Any help appreciated. P S. before you say use 12 characters Ive got about 40 home automation and other devices that use the 2.4 Ghz network and 13 character key so Im looking for a way or avoiding changing all of those.
Quick update, If I add another character so Its now 14 characters it works perfectly, Any explaination?
No idea on the password but you can indeed have separate SSIDs on the Smart Hub/Hub 6, but you can't on the Smart Hub 2.
What happens with 11 characters and 15?
Have you tried with different 5GHz clients (not just multiple versions of the same thing) ?
Many thanks. I'll double check what hub I've now got and report back.
Good point, I will experiment. I have both tablet and phone and both exhibit same error when trying to connect using QR code scanning with 13 character password.
Hi the hub is marked up as Smart Hub 2. Ive attcahed pictures to aid identification. There is no Model number on the actual device that I can see
Hi, Ok so Ive tried both an 11 character password which works and a 15 character password which dosent work, I wonder if I have hit a 12 character limit on the 5GHz password? Any body else care to test this out?
Regards
@NeilO, Any chance you have insight on this issue as I see you have helped out on other wireless password issues. Mine is Smart Hub 2 and when setting a 13 character wireless password on 5Ghz I cant connect my wireless devices when either typing the password or scanning the QR code, I get error incorrect password. The same password works on 2.4 Ghz and also dropping last character works on both.
Cheers
