I have exactly the same issue and the solution above hasnt worked for me. WHen I disconnect the cable from the additional disc and restart the disc it goes flashing blue and then red..... Firmware is v1.02.13 build07 on all the discs old (3) and new reused from another network (2). Any suggestions welcome. I have searched through the forum looking for potential solutions...
What I do notice is the BT wholehome wif fi for the disc that fails to connect is visible to my devices when the red light is on.
The first thing that comes to mind is compatibility i.e.
"Compatibility with other discs
Only Whole Home Wi-Fi Add-on discs will work
with your existing Whole Home Wi-Fi network.
These discs are not compatible with Premium or
Mini Whole Home Wi-Fi discs, or BT’s Complete
Wi-Fi service"
