Looking to leave BT via One Touch Switching - Will BT automatically send me a bag for return equip

Go to solution

Hi there

I hope this is the right place to post, it's regarding the equipment!

I'm looking to leave BT as they cannot offer a good price for me to sign on to. I am able to leave via the OTS One Touch Switching service by the new provider. I was wondering if once I initiate this, will BT automatically then post me a bag for returning my equipment or will I need to do this manually?

Thank you! I look forward to any responses!

Don't worry BT will definitely want their equipment back.

Oh haha! Fair. Then I'll await the email then. Luckily besides the router I didn't need to use the rest of it (the discs and the 4g/5g device) so it's all already neatly packaged.

One should be sent out to you however once you have left you will get an option to request a returns bag via your MyBT.

If you don't get a returns bag you can call BT 0330.1234.150 you can request that they send one out to you.

Make sure you keep a copy of your Proof of Posting and if possible take a photograph of it in case you somehow lose the paper copy.

Thank you very much for the numbers!

And yes I understand the need to keep the proof of delivery.

I remember that a long time ago when I did a router switch from one of the earlier home hubs to a newer one, I did send this back the way BT instructed me to (via their bag/service).

Then a few weeks later I got a note saying I would be charged for none return. As I still had the tracking receipt stuck on my PC so I would not lose it, I gave them the number as well as a photo who then said they won't charge me.
