Wrong DNS in Smart Hub

Why is my Smart Hub set to use unreachable DNS servers at Adastral Park?  It shows DNS is set to 81.139.56.100 and 81.139.57.100 which won't ping.  8.8.8.8 pings of course.

Re: Wrong DNS in Smart Hub

Some sites block ping as it is open to abuse.  Provided you are connecting to websites OK, there is no need to worry.  If necessary, you can manually set the DNS on a Windows computer.

Note, this is a customer-to-customer help forum.  You are not talking directly to BT.

Re: Wrong DNS in Smart Hub

Thank you.  OK ping may be blocked but, our iPads stopped finding sites today and they were automatically using DNS from the hub.  I added 8.8.8.8 manually and they worked again.

Re: Wrong DNS in Smart Hub

Likely to be a temporary glitch.  Despite the high reliability of the DNS system, it does sometimes have it's moments, like anything else.
