Re: cyberpower battery backup cable

Unfortunately, the guys on the EE forum seem unsure as well.

Is there a model number on that Cyberpower unit?

Re: cyberpower battery backup cable

Yea I didn't realise there was a cable missing because I set it up when we didn't have full fibre installed, I assumed the 2nd battery was just another backup.

You'd think when they installed full fibre they could have set it up for that. I think they gave us 2 batteries because full fibre was scheduled to be installed. But the instructions only showed for the way I installed it, and they didn't have the cable I needed for the smart hub.

I contacted them this evening though, they're gonna send the 'battery backup plus' which will have a splitter cable that powers both. They did send me out a lead a few days ago, but it was for the battery backup plus, they couldn't seem to get the older battery backup cable.

Thanks for your help, much appreciated 👍

Re: cyberpower battery backup cable

Yes, that's what I suspect the one in the link was for, which is why I couldn't be sure it was the one you needed.

Do you have a model number on the one you already have?  This question has come up a few times and I'd like to get to the bottom of it.  If I have a model number I can query it with CyberPower's own support people.

Re: cyberpower battery backup cable

Yes I just looked & had a picture of the model number, it is 'DTB24U12V'

Hopefully you'll get some answers, I would like to purchase the lead if possible so we have a backup for our backup 🤣

Thanks.  I'll see what I can find out but it will probably take the best part of next week.

Re: cyberpower battery backup cable

Just had some feedback from a friend on the EE forum.

"The connector for the back off the CyberPower BBU is the same as the one for the BT Smart Hub 2, Barrel connector 5.5/3.0mm and for anyone who needs the output of the CyberPower is 12V Centre +ve on the cable."

Re: cyberpower battery backup cable

That's great, thanks for the heads up.

I did a quick search & can't find any specific to those requirements, I'll take a better look later when I've more time to do so on the laptop.

Re: cyberpower battery backup cable

As I said before, 3.0mm is an unusual size.  You can buy the plugs and make up your own lead, if you know how.  Alternatively, buying something like a 2.1mm plug to plug lead and the a couple of 2.1 to 3.0 adapters might be easier.

Re: cyberpower battery backup cable

Yea I must actually buy those leads + adapters, I wouldn't attempt to make them myself 🤣
