Some messages received by husband asking if he’s emailed them today. Now unable to access email account.

Was able to gain access to emails on iPad. BT message said they’d noted suspicious activity & shut the account. He was then given a number, and had to create a new passwords, after which everything worked fine.
The issue now is on his phone. He can’t access his email account on his phone (iPhone 13).
Can you please help?
Are you presently a BT Broadband customer or are you paying for your email through a BT Premium email account or have you migrate to EE Broadband?
Did he change the password on his iphone to the new password?
