Emails slide to oblivion!

Sometimes when I press to open an email it slides to the bottom of the screen (iPhone Air) and disappears. It doesn’t go into Bin or Junk. I have to contact the sender to ask for it to be resent. Anyone else have this problem?

Have you tried turning off your iPhone and switching it back on again as sometimes that helps get rid of App glitches.

It could be an issue with your mail synchronisation settings.

You could try deleting the mail App and reinstalling it.

Is your iPhone running the very latest iOS update?

Thanks. I have tried turning off and back on but it doesn’t help. It happens so randomly - bizarre. I’ll try deleting the App and reinstalling.

Did deleting and re-installing the app stop this happening? 

If not, can you try searching for the email that disappeared to see if this shows in any folders?

Sadly no, one disappeared yesterday. I am lothe to delete the email app and reinstall as I will lose all emails I’m guessing.

Im not sure that uninstalling and reinstalling the App would lead to you losing all of your emails 🤔

In any case, you have the option of backing up your iPhone and reinstalling a backup if something were to go wrong.

Just to confirm, which email app are you using?

When the email goes missing have you tried logging onto your BTMail account using a web browser to see if it is there?

Does it only happen to one sender or is it random?

Hi, I’m using the Mail App on iphone

ive logged into my online account and the lost emails are not there. 

The emails that disappear are totally random.

I don't have an iPhone so I can not check this but I believe there are swipe actions that can be set to delete emails.

It may be worth checking those settings and if need be turn them off or change them to some other action to see if that stops the problem.

1. Open the Settings and select Apps → Mail.
2. Choose Swipe Options in the Message List section.
3. Tap Swipe Left and pick the action.
4. Tap Swipe Right and pick the action.
5. Use the Apps arrow on the top left to exit the Mail settings.
