150 vs 300

Go to solution

Hi all,

I moved to BT from TT 15 days ago and i have the free speed boost which is giving me the speeds below, i don't need the speed and was happy with TT's 150 Mbps but if i drop to 100 Mbps the lowest limit BT guarantee it may be an issue, can i drop to 150 Mbps then move back if it doesn't work out?

Thanks in advance.

Full fibre isn't rate adaptive like FTTC, you will get the full speed, besides which, I very much doubt if you could tell the difference between 100Mbps and 150Mbps in the real world in any case.

The 100Mbps figure is just an administrative figure.

I've been on 150 FF for 12 months now.  Probably done more speed tests than ever before.  (Just curiosity).  151Mb/s down, 29Mb/s up every time.  Doesn't matter how many times I reboot the ONT.  Doesn't matter how often I reboot the router.  Does matter that I've changed router.  151 down, 29 up every test.  Solid as a rock.

Thanks, looks like 150 will do for me,  TalkTalks speeds were good so looking forward to BT's being the same.

Just for the record, that should have been "doesn't matter that I've changed the router".

Were you getting the same speed before switching router?
