Are you allowed to choose an alternative entry point for FTTP cabling.

At the moment I am receiving ASDL broadband to the house, via copper wiring, with the prospect of very soon being able to avail of FTTP.  Do I get a say as to where I can place the FTTP cable entering the house or do I have to stay with the entry point where the telephone line comes in?  The hub is presently located in the living room beside the TV and I wish to place it in a more central location in the house.

Also, is the ethernet cable that is supplied with the router, the only cable that the engineer is allowed to install?  In other words, if I require a longer ethernet cable to connect the ONT box with the router, that is something that I must arrange as opposed to the Openreach engineer.

You can ask the installer and if it is possible they will generally site it where you want however if that is not feasible the decision is up to the installer.

If you are not happy with where it is to be installed you can refuse the instal and cancel your order.  

The hub is usually sited next to the ONT so if you need a long Ethernet cable it is up to you to supply it.

It may be possible to run the fibre internally to where you want the ONT, but probably best to avoid going around door frames. As above, it's at the installer's discretion so it won't hurt to have the kettle on & the best biscuits at the ready!

But you will be required to supply any additional ethernet cabling if you want to site the Hub away from the ONT.
