Re: BT 500 vs 900 vs EE

Back in the summer when our bathroom was fitted we actually came across wifi enabled bathroom mirrors.

They were voice activated and could tell you the weather etc.

The gadget lover in me was well impressed but swmbo bizarrely thought it was pointless.

Needless to say it's on my wish list.

Re: BT 500 vs 900 vs EE

Yup, quite a lot of electronic stuff these days comes with either WiFi or Bluetooth connections. It's hardly my fault if the only way an appliance can get an update, is via WiFi is it? Indeed my both my washing machine and dishwasher have received updates to actually improve their efficiency. Who'd have thunk it!

Re: BT 500 vs 900 vs EE

Yeah, I know. Would be helpful if you could at least spell Miele correctly though 😂

You tinker, you corrected that before I had chance.......errrr 🤣

Oh, and I actually forgot, my Wife's car, that too also receives updates via WiFi. In fact, I can park her car quite literally right outside of our front door, connect the car to our home WiFi and TADA! it can receive OTA updates via WiFi. But of course, why the blazes would anyone buy a car that can be updated via your home WiFi. Utterly daft 🤣

@ItsJustMe

I have been a customer for over 50 years and the bottom line is that when BT get it right, there is no one better. However, when they get it wrong, they can be a nightmare to deal with. In your case, l’m not convinced that by upgrading, you will notice any significant improvement in the level of service. There is no doubt that you could reduce your costs by migrating to a new provider, but by the same token, you could be opening a new can of worms. Not much help, am l. 🤔😂

Re: BT 500 vs 900 vs EE

I jump ship every couple of years between BT and PN and I’ve never had any problems. Then again, I don’t have a landline and nor do I have any TV packages with my ISP. Bottom line is, I just don’t get any issues. The only reason I flip between ISP’s is pricing and because I have no desire to negotiate with any ISP customer service or retentions teams. It’s just easier for me to flip ISP and get reduced prices and sign up Reward cards.

Re: BT 500 vs 900 vs EE

Hi,

Receiving new equipment when moving from BT to EE depends entirely on the product/services you would be moving to. There are quite a few journeys where you would retain your existing SH2. This will be confirmed at the point of order.

Re: BT 500 vs 900 vs EE

@Katie_B

With great respect, I think you’ve missed the point. My question was, if you are on a 30 day rolling contract with BT and you have a SH2, if you initiate a switch to EE via One Touch Switching, would that switch be treated by EE as you being a brand new customer and thus they send you a brand new EE router and you then follow the standard returns process of the SH2 to BT?

I suspect you won’t be able to answer that question, so that’s my challenge to you, can you confirm whether or not that is what would happen?
