Bt smart hub 3

1731.jpg

got full fibre installed a month ago i am having to reboot my router daily as download speed is dropping to 12Mbps with an extremely high ping, reading this is a known fault on the hub 3,  something to do with a bottle neck ? Im at my wits end.

Re: Bt smart hub 3

There's no bottle neck I'm aware of on the Smart Hub 3 that would have such dramatic effects.  You really need to contact BT to have them run tests on the connection - it's clearly not right!

My suspicion would be a bad/dirty fibre connection/joint!

Re: Bt smart hub 3

You might have some connection stability issues. This can result in your connection dropping out.
Technical details ^
Your hub could be in sync with the exchange or cabinet, but not connecting to the gateway. If there's no PPP session it's likely to be a problem with our network.

This was the fault finder test i done.

Re: Bt smart hub 3

I’m also experiencing this, I have a new hub being sent as I had my ONT swapped over last week also and it’s still doing the same thing. I did a factory reset on the router and it was absolutely fine for 24 hours.

My tech test on the app also said exactly the same thing, open reach did not find any issues on the network side of things. I’ve called BT tech every time it happens so they can witness the performance and has been noted down.

Mine seems to be the same time every day, 800mps WiFi down to sub 10 with high ping. A reset last night restored performance. I also have separated WiFi networks so this feels like a hub issue to me. The issue is that the majority of the tech team seems like they have not dealt with many hub 3 as they were previously business.

Re: Bt smart hub 3

Did you get a replacement hub 3 to test and it still happens?

I’ve had Openreach here, they changed the ONT and checked the surrounding area to which they said there is no faults or reported faults by others. I’m trying to figure out who I need to go to next.

Re: Bt smart hub 3

No faults show up because blue light stays on not fully dropping out still running at 10 or 12 Mbps which is a safety setting im informed
