Connection dropping

Contract ended so BT upgraded to fibre.

Was rubbish so upgraded my speeds 3 times, 2 new routers, internal engineers, open reach engineer.

Still internet just logging us off devices and incredible rubbish speeds.

BT nothing we can do, we tested everything and router receiving correct speeds.

Been with BT 20 years and never had a WiFi issue before.

Had to cancel, took me 3 days to post this as WiFi so erratic!!

So my question is why is fibre so bad! No issues with my copper internet before, all same devices.

I have screenshots of my device not connecting but BT saying nope all good 😢

Re: Connection dropping

Do you get problems if connected by Ethernet or is it just when connected by WiFi?

Re: Connection dropping

So your problem is Wifi only,  not your fibre broadband.

Have you you tried changing channels? How far away is the device that is dropping?

Re: Connection dropping

@Smythsam

I obviously don't know how you're accessing via WiFi, but if on a PC or laptop, have you looked at updating the WiFi drivers for your equipment?

I only mention it because both my desktop and laptop use Intel WiFi drivers and are fairly frequently updated via the Intel Update and Support Assistant. Obviously if the WiFi components use different chips then you'd have to consult the appropriate manufacturer.

Try disabling your WiFi driver and re-enabling.

Re: Connection dropping

It seems like it may be interferance causing the problem.

Have added any new electrical items to your house?

Are there any electrial items not working as they should?

Does it only happen on one device or does it happen on all wifi connected devices?
