Damage to Brick During Fibre install

Hi I have submitted a complaint to open reach for work done yesterday. Fibre installed a 6pm.in the dark. I didn't see this until this morning.

How long does open reach take to respond and what do you think they can/will do .

Re: Damage to Brick During Fibre install

The "damage"  or blow out is what normally happens to the reverse face of a brick when it is drilled. There is nothing that can be done to avoid it other than drilling from the outside into the house rather than drilling from inside the house to the outside.

Drilling from the outside in can result in plaster being blown out and the hole not being exactly where you want it.

A small amount of cement or coloured sillicone will fix it.

Ahh cool, thanks, I will see what open reach say, if they are no help, then I will look into that as a solution along with a cable cover off eBay

Guess I'm more annoyed the installer didn't mention it. The fibre seems excellent though though.
