I was a customer at the same address a year or so ago, previously was getting circa 70Mbps, now I'm only being offered 8-16 on the broadband deals page!
Is this a mistake, and if so can it be rectified?
I'm asking here as due to a disability I'm not able to phone up. Would appreciate someone from BT contacting me
Solved! Go to Solution.
You are possibly only being offered ADSL as all the VDSL ports in the cabinet have been taken up by other customers since you switched.
Enter your phone number HERE and post the result. Remove phone number before posting. If it doesn't recognise your phone number use the address checker NOT postcode.

FTTP is not available.
The exchange is not in a current fibre priority programme
WLR is currently available at the exchange
SOADSL is not restricted at the exchange
For all ADSL and WBC Fibre to the Cabinet (VDSL or G.fast) services, the stable line rate will be determined during the first 10 days of service usage.
Actual speeds experienced by end users and quoted by CPs will be lower due to a number of factors within and external to BT's network, Communication Providers' networks and within customer premises.
In order to be eligible for handback, downstream speed should be less than Downstream Handback Threshold values.
If you decide to place an order for a WBC fibre product, an appointment may be required for an engineer to visit the end user's premises to supply the service
It shows waiting list, so there are no free ports available.
Ah ok that explains it then. So essentially I'd have to just keep checking to see if someone locally has ended their FTTC connection?
There's one bit that said FTTH not available, and another saying FTTH on demand available - what does the on demand one mean?
Just as desperate to see if there's any way of getting out from Virgin Media whilst at least retaining a decent broadband speed
Yes, you just have to check daily for availability. You could sign up to copper in the meantime & upgrade when a slot becomes free.
FTTP on demand means you pay the full cost of installing infrastructure & will run to thousands.
Ok that's great, thank you! 👍
Right, definitely not feasible for me 😂
